Courses
- Interested in film but don’t know where to start?
- Nothing on TV or radio that you care about?
Then come to the Ability Media Centre to gain media qualifications and get experience in making your own TV, film and radio programmes.
We run lots of free courses that won’t only get you a recognised industry qualification but will also provide you with career advice and support as well as exposure for your work in film festivals and screening events.
Ability Media courses are open to disabled and disadvantaged people to give them all the skills and encouragement they need to produce media content for TV, Web, cable, mobile, radio and find work in the industry.Courses are free if you are over 19, receiving benefits and not in an employment, education or a training scheme.
Because individual students are all at different stages of learning, we can also help with fundamental skills such as numeracy, problem solving, IT or employment skills alongside our media based courses.
We have specially adapted equipment such as high visibility keyboards to make learning accessible to as many people as possible. We will aim to cater for your specific needs.
The courses are conducted by a team of qualified media professionals with many years of experience in the business.
