AMI Awards 2011
Some of the UK broadcast and arts industry’s most well respected and influential players turned out to celebrate this year’s prestigious Ability Media International (AMI) Awards.
Hosted by renowned children’s champion, Baroness Floella Benjamin OBE, the AMI awards, now in their third year, identify outstanding creative projects that encourage a more inclusive world for disabled and disadvantaged people.
The ceremony, boasted a list of highly respected presenters including Mike Leigh, Simon Callow, Sir John Tomlinson and Dame Maggie Smith. Performing at the ceremony will be established hip-hop artist and Producer, Sway, and rising star Lizzie Emeh, whose debut album ‘Loud and Proud’ sums up the ethos of the event
Some of the winners included Chris Dundon for his short film about a young boy coming to terms with his brother’s disability and Katie Piper for the television programme Katie, My Beautiful Friends
