The courses below are a summary of the programmes and their eligibility.

Sports Dance

Designed for 16-19 year olds (up to 25 with a disability) who are based in London.

Under the supervision of experienced tutors each class will make a documentary on the subject of either Sport or Dance. Every student will gain a Level 1 or 2 NCFE qualification as well as:  

  • Support from a personal advisor. 
  • Experience master classes with Media Professionals
  • Support from media career advisors.

Media Highway

Designed for 16-24 year old ex-offenders who have a disability and/or limiting health condition.

The programme involves making radio and TV productions that allow participants to express themselves and their experiences. The productions will then be shown at film festivals to an audience of peers, family and the public. Participants will also gain:

  • Access to work placements within the industry.
  • One-to-one sessions with Employment and Skills Advisors.   
  • Access to Media Job Clinics and workshops

Our Rights to Relationships

A programme for 16-19 year olds (up to 25 with a disability) who are based in London.

This programme will provide young people with the opportunity to learn a variety of skills, gain qualifications and take part in a documentary production. The course aims to improve confidence as well as offer support and career guidance from media professionals. In addition students will receive:

  • NCFE qualification level 1-2 in video production.
  • Master classes by media professionals.

Step into Media

Designed for anyone over the age of 16 living in Southwark.

The programme is essentially an informal media club that provides participants with the opportunity to make short films about the cultural life of the borough. The club will provide career support such as CV building and job searching and will culminate in an end of project screening event, open to friends, family and the public. Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in:

  • Urban Echo Media Club: a Music magazine style programme
  • Youth News - Media Club: A news programme with a difference
  • Media Clinic: An opportunity to look at media as a career
